School of Concrete and Construction Management
Internship Information
Concrete Industry Management and Construction Management students are required to work a 400-hour internship as part of their degree requirements. Students can find internships on their own or through the department recruiting events to find a suitable opportunity. See Connect with Employers to begin your search.
To Sign Up for Internship Credit
Students must sign-up for CIM 3300 or CMT 3300 during the semester they are working the internship. Once you have secured an internship opportunity, complete the Student Approval Form and take it to your major and concentration’s internship coordinator for approval, for permission to enroll in the internship course, and for their specific requirements for the opportunity.

What does the CIM/CMT 3300 class entail?
The course is a pass/fail grade and does not meet weekly but rather is credit for your learning while working the 400 required hours with a company. Near the end of the opportuinty, students should complete the Student Evaluation. They should meet with their internship supervisor to have them complete and submit the Employer Evaluation, as well as finish any additional requirements to their faculty internship coordinator by the end of that term.
What if I work more than 400 hours?
Full-time fall and spring internships are very desired in the industry and are a great way to learn about a larger part of the job cycle by being on a real project for a longer time. Students working more than the required 400 hours may earn additional internship credit that can count toward elective credits. Work with your faculty coordinator and/or academic advisor to discuss options.
